Director, Deloitte Consulting - Global Location Strategy

Olaf Babinet

Olaf Babinet, Director in Germany joined Deloitte 20 years ago, with the role to manage global location strategy engagements across EMEA, Americas and Asia. Olaf has 25 years of experience advising companies on site selection, footprint optimization and/or restructuring operations all across the world, mostly for manufacturing, shared service centers, R&D and headquarter projects.

Olaf has also developed grants negotiations advice for large and medium-sized companies interested in setting up operations in the enlarged EMEA, Americas and Asia. During the course of his many projects, Olaf has developed professional relationships with representative of numerous governments.

About Global Location Strategy:

Deloitte’s German location strategy practice consists of 12 international experts with sound experience and broad networks in 70+ countries. We help clients to best align business strategies with business geographies. We advise them about their location strategy when it comes to decide where/why/how they can set up new manufacturing plants, shared service centers, data centers, R&D centers, headquarters, and excellence centers as well as how to optimize their existing footprint.

Tom Bangemann

Tom Olavi Bangemann is an experienced manager, coach, mentor and board member with proven content and managerial track record.

Currently Tom is an independent advisor in his role as the owner and Managing Director of ConAxia. Tom is also Head of Data Development & Research as well as Advisory Board member for SSON Analytics, Senior Advisor to Callisto Grand, and Advisor to DCG Global. Tom is also the founder of several GBS communities, e.g. Hungarian Shared Service Community and Baltic Shared Service Community. He supported and advised several ABSL chapters and the UK Shared Service Forum.

Tom has extensive coaching and mentoring experience over the past 10+ years, including mentoring the CHRO of a 1bn revenue listed consumer goods company. He has been on the Board of Directors for 2 years in Basware, a listed software company. Previuously Tom was Senior Vice President Business Transformation at The Hackett Group until end of June 2021. He had been with The Hackett Group for 19 years in various regional and practice leadership roles. Before that Tom was with Arthur Andersen in auditing and consulting.

Tom is a recognized speaker on hundreds of conferences/events on 4 continents, Chairman of numerous events e.g. in UK, Germany, Hungary, UAE, China, as well as author of the Hackett Institute’s Advanced Diploma in GBS Professionals Program, and the book „Shared Services in Finance and Accounting“.

Traci Freeman

Operating out of South Africa with a long and successful track record of working with diverse sector & trade associations, philanthropic as well as non-profit organisations and private firms across numerous sectors.

Roles and positions have carried her across B2C, B2B and H2H interactions running projects across Africa, Europe and the USA.

A key focus has been in youth employment within the Global Business Services sector where her role as country representative for the Rockefeller Foundation and the ‘Digital Jobs Africa’ initiative focused on linking marginalised youth communities to employment opportunities. This became what is now globally acknowledged within the GBS & BPO sector as Impact Sourcing – a global network of businesses creating jobs for those most in need through the power of procurement and global supply chains. Ultimately this culminated in the launch of the Impact Sourcing Chapters for Africa, UK & Ireland and North America.

Having engaged in the Global Business Services Sector (GBS) for the past two decades she has been involved with GBS and BPO industry awards, numerous regional, national and international research reports and publications and global events such as CX Outsourcers.

Her passion for quality was ignited in 2001 when introducing COPC into South Africa and running audits for several local and global firms. Involved with various standards creation teams, she currently sits as the Chair on the South African Bureau of Standards Technical Committee, is the sector representative for COPOLCO – ISO BPO application committee and global ISO convener for the ISO 18295 Customer Contact Centre Service standards Parts I & II launched in 2017.

Supporting the South African Trade Association BPESA with Demand stimulation and marketing, she is a fervent supporter of the Global GBS Village and passionate advocate for the social impact and economic opportunity the Global Business Services sector offers offshore locations and the citizens within these country’s.

Debi Hamill

Debi is a hands-on CEO with expertise in strategy, business development, operations, global conferences and events, and is known for her relationship development acumen.

She helped build the foundation for IAOP’s success through strategic foresight, drive, and determination. With 25+ years of experience working with FORTUNE 500 companies and the C-Suite, Debi’s work has positioned IAOP as the preeminent professional association for organizations and individuals involved in transforming the world of business through outsourcing and collaboration.

Through her leadership and vision, she was the mastermind behind IAOP’s Center for Social Impact and works closely with like-minded organizations to promote and support causes near to her heart such as impact sourcing, diversity and inclusion, global mentorship, and refugee initiatives within the outsourcing industry and beyond. She is a Private Sector Advisory Council member of the World Bank Solutions for Youth Employment Initiative, on the advisory board of the Global Mentorship Initiative, and a proud member of the Global Impact Sourcing Coalition. Debi is also a long-time supporter of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
